GlobalProtect "Stale Session" Errors

If you have been receiving a “Stale Request” error when trying to validate your VPN session with the newly implemented GlobalProtect client, please read through and follow the steps below to circumvent this issue.


How to Fix the “Stale Session” Error in GlobalProtect

 

From the start menu, type “GlobalProtect”

Click on the burger menu (top right corner).

Most likely, your session will still display as active in the portal “gateway.colostate.edu”; click on the “Sign Out” button (see image below)

Then click on “Connect”

When redirected to the eID Login screen, enter your eName and eID password, then use your mouse to click on the “Login” button (circled below in blue) Do Not Use The Enter Key on your keyboard!

From there, authenticate with Duo.

When the connection is successful, the GlobalProtect screen will display as “Connected” Click “Disconnect” to end the session as needed.
